On Wednesday 21st January 2026, the Team Leader Cnect Conference brought together leaders from across Wales at Cardiff City Football Club for a day dedicated to growth, connection, and leadership excellence. Packed with insightful sessions, interactive discussions, and opportunities for networking, the day provided practical tools and inspiration for team leaders navigating today’s complex workplace.
The event opened with a powerful session from Joanne Lockwood from SEE Change Happen on inclusion and the challenges facing employers and the trans community. Her talk was practical, honest, and deeply thought-provoking, giving leaders the tools and confidence to make defensible decisions in complex situations while supporting their teams. These conversations are vital in shaping more inclusive workplaces.
During the Ideas Exchange and Reflection sessions, attendees engaged in lively table discussions, shared perspectives, and presented back key takeaways. These sessions encouraged collaboration, reflection, and a real sense of shared learning across the room.
Andrew Ashby from The Ribbon of Life led a compelling session on Resilience, Perspective, and Making Every Moment Count, using the Ribbon of Life methodology alongside practical strategies for resilience. Through this reflective presentation, delegates explored lessons from the past, set priorities for the future, and considered the importance of being fully present in every moment.
The day concluded with a Q&A Leadership Panel, featuring Marco Jetmir Ndrecaj (SSCL), Carol Roberts (Starling) and Andrew Ashby (Ribbon of Life). Their discussions offered practical insights on navigating challennges, empowering teams, and leading with authenticity.
